Report: BCRC-Caribbean Waste Electrical and Electronic Data and Management Assessment for the Republic of Trinidad and Tobago
Final project report on the national assessment of waste electrical and electronic equipment (WEEE) in Trinidad and Tobago. This project was conducted by the BCRC-Caribbean in 2013 and documents the status of the generation and management of WEEE occurring throughout the country. The report also highlights some of the key issues hampering the environmentally sound management (ESM) of WEEE as well as presents recommendations to ensure that ESM of WEEE is holistically achieved throughout Trinidad and Tobago.

BCRC-Caribbean Summary Document on the Decisions of the 2013 Ordinary Meetings of the Conference of the Parties to the Basel and Stockholm Conventions
This summary document produced by the BCRC-Caribbean presents the key agenda issues that were considered during the 11th and 6th ordinary meetings of the COPs of the Basel and Stockholm Conventions respectively. It outlined the elements of key decisions considered by the COPs, presents the final text adopted and briefly examined the possible implications for Caribbean Parties to the Convention.

This briefing document produced by the BCRC-Caribbean summarises the key agenda issues that are up for consideration and possible adoption at the ordinary and extraordinary meetings of the COPs of the Basel, Rotterdam and Stockholm Conventions in Geneva from 28th April to 5th May 2013. Each of the key agenda issues up for deliberation is presented along with an outline of the key elements to be considered by the Parties, the documents which contain text and additional reports of concern for the agenda item and the draft text of the proposed action up for adoption. Brief discussions on the possible implications of each item and the proposals made to address the subject matter as well as make recommendations on whether or not the proposed action was acceptable for adoption by the Caribbean Parties are also provided.

BCRC-Caribbean Summary of Decisions of the COP of the Basel Convention on its Regional Centres (up to COP-11)
This document contains a series of summary tables that present the decisions made at each ordinary meeting of the COP of the Basel Convention from COP-1 until COP-11. It displays the relevant decision numbers and the respective text of each decision which provides the mandates and other text influential to the functions and operations of the Basel Convention Regional Centres (BCRCs).

This briefing paper summarises the background on the Minamata Convention on Mercury, briefly elaborates on the key technical elements and related provisions of the Convention to be considered by States, and discusses the synergistic considerations for its joint implementation along with the key treaties in the chemicals and waste cluster: the Basel, Rotterdam and Stockholm Conventions.

This briefing paper summarises the participation of the Caribbean countries in activities related to the preparation and adoption of the Minamata Convention, thereby providing initial regional information during the interim period until the Convention enters into force. This first version of the document was developed in November 2013 and will be periodically updated.

BCRC-Caribbean Briefing Paper on the Synergies Decisions of the Basel, Rotterdam and Stockholm Conventions and their Implications for the Regional Centres of the Basel Convention (BCRCs)
This briefing paper focuses on the impact of the Synergies Decisions of the Basel, Rotterdam and Stockholm (BRS) Conventions on the BCRCs. These Decisions have been adopted by the respective Conference of the Parties of the Conventions in order to leverage the inherent opportunities that exist among them for the protection of human and environmental health. This paper provides an overview of the various Synergies Decisions and their influence on the key areas of technical assistance, exchanging of information, consolidation and appropriation of resources, and reporting as they pertain to the operations of the BCRCs Regional Centres working in the chemicals and waste focal area.

Conference paper written and submitted by the BCRC-Caribbean for the jointly held 6th Caribbean Environmental Forum & Exhibition (CEF-6) and the 16th Annual Wider Caribbean Waste Management Conference (ReCaribe) from 21st to 25th May 2012 in St. Kitts.

Position paper written and submitted by the BCRC-Caribbean for consideration at the Multi-stakeholder Policy Dialogue and in the forthcoming 'Call for Action' on establishing and managing public-private cooperation on the management of end-of life e-goods and e-wastes.

A short country report on the situation of hazardous waste management in Trinidad and Tobago prepared by the BCRC-Caribbean and submitted as part of its participation at the seminar on hazardous waste in Latin America and the Caribbean and the new Training Resource Package (TRP+) expert workshop hosted by UNEP/IETC, ISWA and UNIDO along with the Association of Waste Studies in Argentina (ARS) on November14th - 16th 2012 in Buenos Aires.

The GEF-Council approved PIF document for this regional full-sized project to be prepared and executed by the BCRC-Caribbean in nine (9) Caribbean countries under the guidance of the Stockholm Convention Unit of the United Nations Industrial Development Organisation (UNIDO).

Toolkit for Identification and Quantification of Releases of Dioxins, Furans and Other Unintentional POPs
This revised edition of the Toolkit contains improved dioxin emission factors for sources and technologies typical for developing regions, and emission factors for other unintentionally produced POPs.
